About Us

We are a small group of medical professionals and health care administrators who have a long history of working in the health sector in Sierra Leone. We believe sustainable solutions in our health care issues can be better addressed by finding local solutions/ partners.

Davidson Abioseh Nicol was a renowned Sierra Leonean medical practitioner and scientist with a special interest in diabetes and related conditions within Sierra Leone and the sub-region. He was the discoverer of the primary structure of human insulin. The foundation is named in memory of his work and commitment to health sciences in Sierra Leone and the sub-region.

One of the members of the group, Sylvester Nicol MD, FACP has been recognised by the American Diabetes Association, Provider Recognition Program for delivery of Quality Diabetes Care.
